COVID-19 Response:

March 16, 2020: As a result of the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus outbreak, and for the health, safety and welfare of the public, law enforcement, and staff, the Richland County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has implemented the following procedures, effective immediately:

Hours and Questions: The prosecutor’s office will be open from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. In addition to the main phone number, the prosecutor’s office has established a contact form on the main page of our website that will be monitored during regular business hours. If the main line is busy, please feel free to utilize this online form for a prompt response.

Office Access: Prior to visiting the office, please call in and verify that in-person presence is necessary. Many matters will be handled via phone. Access to the secured portion of the office will be restricted to employees only. Arrangements have been made for private meeting spaces that are not within the employee-only area. Telephone conference remains the preferred method of communication if in person meeting is not mandatory.

Court Hearings: If you are scheduled to appear as a witness in any hearing for our office, please call the main office number prior to the hearing to confirm whether a hearing is going forward.

Diversion candidates are to report via phone at the main number at 419-774-5676 until further notice. Diversion payments should still be made and individuals on diversion should contact the office for direction.

Teleconferencing: The prosecutor’s office will be utilizing phone and video conferencing in lieu of routine meetings that usually take place in office. This includes prosecutor pretrial conferences and meetings with county clients.

Environmental Health: Routine cleaning has increased and specific procedures are being followed to reduce and contain the transmission of disease.

If you have any questions, please call the prosecutor’s office at 419-774-5676.
