In addition, an auto attendant has been put into place for civilians to call in and get information on inmates. Example, if you wanted to know when an active inmate is to be released, you could call in and retrieve this information automatically via the phone. The Richland County Jail is located at 73 East Second Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44902. From I-71 take State Route 13 north to downtown Mansfield. The Jail is located next to the Richland County Courthouse.
Visitors shall enter the County Jail through the Visitation Area entrance located on the south west corner of the building. All visitors are subject to security controls that have been established by the Jail.Visitation with inmates must be scheduled prior to the visit by calling 419-774-3281 between 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Walk-ins will not be scheduled. Visitation hours are Monday-Friday from 5pm-9pm and Saturday and Sundays from 8am-9pm. Visitors may only schedule a visit up to two weeks in advance.
Inmates may receive one, 30-minute visit per scheduled visit day per 7-day period (no splitting visits). If you visit an inmate whom you are not scheduled to visit, you will lose visitation privileges for (90) days. ALL visitors MUST be able to provide a VALID photo ID. NO juveniles are permitted to visit at this time. Visitors must adhere to and pass a COVID-19 Screening Assessment. Masks are MANDATORY; however, you will be asked to remove the mask temporarily for ID purposes.NO contraband or weapons are allowed to enter the building. NO purses, bags, coats, weapons, tools, food, drink, cellphones, electronic devices, or any of the likeness will be permitted in the lobby area. T
hese items will be left on the coat rack in the lobby. Richland County Jail is not responsible for items left or stolen in the lobby area.
Sending Money Policy
Family and friends may deposit money in an Inmate's account during the hours of 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM daily by using the Keefe Kiosk system located in the visitation lobby, by mail, or on-line by visiting www.accesscorrections.com . Credit Cards are accepted using the Keefe Kiosk system NO PERSONAL CHECKS allowed.

POSTAL MAIL POLICIES ARE CHANGING
Effective June 29, 2020, physical mail addressed to incarcerated individuals will be scanned and distributed digitally on the inmate terminal and tablet. This new policy is being implemented in order to maintain facility safety and security.

Exceptions include private/privileged mail sent from legal institutions, packages and money orders. Other exceptions may apply.
Upon approval of the medical staff prescription drugs and medication may be dropped off for the inmate provided that they are currently prescribed medication for the applicable inmate and they are in the prescribed container. The prescription then must be validated through our staff physician.
Due to HIPPA regulations, the medical staff is unable to discuss any medical information about any inmate.
When an inmate is processed into the Richland County Jail, all personal property is taken and placed into a storage area during the incarceration period. Property may be picked up only with written permission of the inmate. If an inmate is released from the County Jail to another facility we will hold the property for 10 days. After 10 days the property will be considered abandoned and destroyed if not picked up. No property will be allowed to be dropped off for any inmate without the approval of the Jail Administrator.
